Turbotax says CT forms will be available 1/23/25 so I'm wondering why I can't file my CT return yet?
I checked my sons tax return:
Turbo tax:
Line 11 federal tax form adjusted gross income (AGI) is identical to line 1 form CT 1040 - $3486
CT-1040 line 18 ct wages tips etc $3058 same line tax withheld $112 line 22 overpayment $112...line 25 refund $112...
State website DRS check image below (this is CT-1040 below):
On DRS site withholding section...same as TT
Lines 1 through 18 on CT-1040 generated by DRS:
We need Sherlock Holmes...Yikes!!!

One more thing...W-2 entered in TT is correct right?
Check this as well in the DRS site...

I see what you are saying. You have other items in the return that I don’t have. I would trust the state site over Turbo Tax only because they have the updated forms. This may be part of what Intuit is working on. It may be that all the code / algorithm that is needed to support the new forms is not in place yet.
Save the state return for now. By 1/30 Intuit will have all the programming changes in place and the new state forms. I would be curious if by 1/30 TT and the State DRS results match.
Keeping my fingers crossed.
🤞

Yes. You may be hitting exactly the piece of coding that is not in place yet to support the new forms That is the only logical explanation. Also my son’s return is very vanilla as opposed to yours.
Take care.

Mizzresa
I believe the problem stems from CT-EITC. Earned income tax credit. Your return has that form. Mine does not.
That form is listed in the TT support site as one of the forms not available yet. If you logon to the support site (not the community support site) go to state form availability and you’ll see that form listed. It will be ready on 1/30.
The state calculations are correct (DRS website).
Hope this helps.

Hi Alexis.
At this point I would wait until 1/30 when Intuit Turbo Tax will have the state forms for CT ready and the coding changes finalized.
They moved the release date from 1/23 to 1/30. I decided to file with the state as I wanted to get my sons return filed early.
Is up to you. If you decide to file through DRS your state return check this thread for instructions on how to do it.
Take care and have a good day.

Hey my bad for all the questions. I was thinking of just filing my state taxes through DRS. I filed my federal on TT on 1/25 and it is still pending. My guess it’ll stay pending until the IRS opens up.
I was looking up some information and I saw something that said, “You can’t file your state unless your federal has been accepted.” Do you know if this true? And have you been accepted yet? I know some people got into the test batches and I normally do too, but I waited a few more days this year. Just curious.
