Do I need to file 1099K for my rental income? I did enter the rental income in schedule E. This year I received 1099K due to using Zillow to receive the rent payments

I couldn't find 1099K for rental property income on turbotax software. If I do need to file 1099K and enter my rental income there, should I enter income in schedule E as zero?

I would enter into the IRS form 1099-K income from within the rental property activity on Schedule E Supplemental Income and Loss.

In TurboTax Premium Online, report the income by following these steps:

  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Federal.
  • Down the left side of the screen, click on Wages & income.
  • Click to the right of Rentals, Royalties, and Farm.
  • Click to the right of Rental Properties and Royalties.
  • At the screen Your 2024 rentals and royalties summary, click the pencil icon to the right.
  • At the screen Here's rental property info, select Add income to report rental income.
  • Select Form 1099-K to report the income.

Thanks for your message.  It is very helpful.  By doing this, would a 1099K form be attached to my tax return? Or there would be no 1099K form attached if I don't have income other than rental property on my 1099K.

None attached.

Form 1099-K is used to report/enter income, the form itself is not attached to your 1040.

If you enter via the rental section, the 1099-K will show as the source of the income on the Schedule E worksheet, but not on Schedule E nor Form 1040.
