I was stuck with the same problem because I wrote my phone number like this: 
XXX-XXX-XXXX

(XXX)XXX-XXXX

or
XXX XXX XXXX

It only worked if I put all of the digits together like this:
XXXXXXXXXX

You need to remove the special symbol form your phone number. Hyphen or parenthesis might cause this error type. Please review and amend accordingly.

Thank you so much, it worked! 

Wish Intuit would fix that, lost a lot of time trying to figure it out.  When checking, format shows as (XXX)-XXX-XXXX even after entering it as XXXXXXXXXX. But once saved, it work when filing.

I can't go back in the interface to change to the starting pages to change the phone number. The phone number in the last page seam useless. It always take the first one. Major interface fail, once again.
