Is Turbo Tax going to replace Its Deductible with a similar product? Its Deductible is the reason why I started using Turbo Tax all those years ago.
As of right now there are no plans to replace 'It's Deductible'.
@RobertB4444 there's a comment in the help pop-up for FMV on donations that says
COMING SOON: We’re working on a new tool to help you look up the fair market value of your item. We expect it to be ready soon, but you can file without it.
do you have more information on this and when it is coming - sounds largely like what ItsDeductible did?
We do not have information on software development tools.
But this article has some good information on valuing clothing donations.
I am very disappointed to find that ItsDeductible is missing from TurboTax. I used it heavily and relied on it. Without it being part of TurboTax, I may not use TT next year and will look for better options.
You blew it, Intuit.
Looks like this is up in the air. I saw a thread where someone saw an announcement that Intuit was "working on a tool" but no specific release date before tax deadlines in April.
But you can read more about what happened to ItsDeductible here. We'll keep it updated as things break.

Same here — I was using ItsDeductible for years and was really surprised to see it go away before tax season.
I originally went looking for a replacement, but after looking around at some options, thought there was a chance to make donation tracking a lot faster (we have 3 growing kids and my wife and I donate a lot!).
I work in software and decided this was the time to build something new to make donation tracking less of a chore. ItsDeducted launched earlier this year - it supports photo uploads (including photos with multiple items), list import, and better item matching so you don’t keep running into “item not found” in manual searching. I got this launched in time to finish up my own 2025 tax prep - 273 donated items tracked in 22 minutes total time spent. 😁
I'm hoping it’s helpful for people who relied on ItsDeductible and don’t want to go back to spreadsheets or hours of manual entry. There’s a free tier, and it only takes a few seconds to try uploading your first photo or list.
I really hope this helps - would genuinely love feedback from other former ItsDeductible users.
Have you made an attempt to import a file generated with your product into TurboTax?
The trick is the functionality for users to be able to import their saved donations (via a file) into TurboTax rather than being forced to enter them individually, one at a time. Of course, Intuit needs to provide that functionality in the TurboTax software.
This will be a great product IF we can automatically import all our data into Turbo Tax instead of manually re-entering each item one by one (that took me HOURS this year). It looks like this is available with your export of TXT files, so I hope it works seamlessly.
Suggestion: After you upload a picture, make it so you can manually add some items to the same donation. The picture missed a few items, and the only way I could figure out how to add the missing items was to manually add items to a new separate donation.

....and not so much if we can't.

I don't believe Intuit has provided an update to TurboTax which would accommodate importing a TXF, CSV, PDF, or other file format into the program for charitable donations. There was some indication that was in development, but nothing has happened thus far.

@AllieTex - thanks for checking out ItsDeducted! 😀
Let me come back to you on the two items you mentioned.
Adding multiple items:
A few things here - you should be able to upload an image with many items at one time (i've tested up to 45 items in a single photo and the AI identificaiton got them all! - I take no credit for this, by the way - it's the AI model used by the app doing all the heavy lifting).
If you need to add additional items to the same donation, you can either just upload more photos (just X out of the image you already uploaded and you can import the next one), import a list, or add an item through the Quick Search bar. Any of these steps will add the new items into the same donation until you choose to create a new one. (I'm including a screen grab below with these spots marked for reference - hope this helps!).
I'd absolutely love to hear back from you if you're getting stuck anywhere in the process - we're making improvements to the product all the time, and I want to remove as much friction from the donation tracking process as possible! 😁
Importing into TurboTax Online:
No good answer here, unfortunately - this one is painful. TurboTax Online doesn't support import right now, so any of the ItsDeductible replacements are going to have limited utility for now, ours included. There's been some discussion on the TurboTax side about adding this, and it would make sense since they decided to shut down ItsDeducted in October. Hopefully we see this go live in time for the 2026 tax season.
I can assure you of this - if/when TurboTax Online enables a standard import (e.g. CSV, XLS, XLSX, TXF), we will have ItsDeducted ready to support this within days. It's very easy for us to build upon our export functions once TurboTax is ready.

@M-MTax - yes, we’ve looked closely at this. The issue is not generating a file from ItsDeducted; we already support exports. As mentioned in my prior note, the issue is that TurboTax Online does not currently provide a supported way for users to import itemized donation data from an imported file.
Until TurboTax Online enables import on its end, ItsDeducted is most useful for:
On that last point, one of the reasons we built ItsDeducted differently from traditional search/manual-entry tools is that people often don’t track donations in real time because life gets busy. With photo-based tracking, you can take a picture at the donation drop-off and have the items identified, valued, and organized right away so you have everything easily referenceable when you need it later.
I agree completely that TurboTax import is the key missing piece. If TurboTax provides a clear import path for Online users (hopefully before the 2026 tax season), we’ll add support within days.

- TurboTax Desktop users, where TXF import may be workable (though not as seamless as the old ItsDeductible flow)
All of what you posted is encouraging so hopefully Intuit will do its part on this matter.
One point of clarification (or maybe an inquiry) is that I don't believe TurboTax desktop is capable of TXF import for charitable donations. I could very well be wrong, but I haven't seen any evidence that a TXF containing a list of donations can be imported into that section of then program.
Thanks for your help, @ItsDeducted. Please work with Turbo Tax to find a way to import your files automatically. It literally took me 2 DAYS of manual entry to re-type in everything I had already typed in from ItsDeductible for 2025's Tax Return. Any tracking product, in order to be useful, needs to be able to be imported AUTOMATICALLY into Turbo Tax without manual re-entry of individual items. Thanks for your efforts building a new software tracking program!
One more suggestion: More differentiation of prices other than just all clothing items = $8 because Goodwill or Thrift Stores differentiate prices by item type (shirts, pants, skirts, etc.), and make it so you can edit a category that the AI suggests for your item, since the AI miscategorized a few of my items.
@AllieTex wrote:Please work with Turbo Tax to find a way to import your files automatically.
@AllieTex I understand your plea for @ItsDeducted to work with TurboTax but, frankly, that would be an exercise in futility as the developers simply don't take notes. If it's going to happen it will happen without any input from a user or users.
I know the devs are aware that many users want that functionality so, hopefully, they'll work on the implementation.
