Hi  bb53us1,

Thank you so much for your question! You'll have no problem filing with TurboTax Online. Here is a link to an article on how to file a U.S. tax return with foreign earned income. TurboTax will walk you through it step-by-step, and you can always access Live Help if you need us.

As for your foreign telephone number, you cannot enter a foreign phone number in TurboTax.  You can leave the field blank or you can enter the phone number of a relative or friend in the U.S, or a "dummy number" (800-555-1212). This will allow you to complete your return, and the IRS will identify your entry as a placeholder number - if they have questions, they will mail them to you."

Please note that you will need a US credit card with a US billing address to pay for TurboTax, which you have indicated that you have. So you'll have no issues.

Thanks for contacting TurboTax!

Hi bb53us1, thank you for joining TurboTax Special Forum today.

If you are a U.S. Citizen or residential alien, the rules for filing income tax return and for paying estimated tax are generally the same whether you are in the U.S. or in France. Please refer to IRS Pub 54 Tax Guide for U.S. Citizens and Resident Aliens Abroad.

https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/p54.pdf

We will be delighted for you to use TurboTax Online for your tax year 2021 (and 2020) filing. You would enter your retirement income from the U.S. and France, W-2 or 1099-NEC on the consulting job. TurboTax Online can handle Foreign income exclusion (Form 2555) and foreign tax credit (Form 1116) if applicable.

To change the phone number of your TurboTax account, if "self help" at login screen does not work, please refer to:

Account Recovery Request for your TurboTax Account

Hope the above helps.
