I recently did my taxes online through a different account. Can i remove an alleged fine from an email based on the other account that i did not file the taxes in?

Doing taxes in a different account. Will they recognize the difference.

Who is "they?"  The IRS does not care one bit what software or what online account you use to prepare or file your tax return.

To clarify, I created a different turbotax account by accident and filed my taxes there. I received an email saying that i have fine but it appears to be from my previous account, so i am just trying to make sure that i don't get fined since i filed the taxes in a different account. Does it matter or should i just ignore the email?

Thanks

An email from who?  The IRS does not send emails to you.   Who sent you an email?  What is the fine for?

Just an email from turbotax saying that i should file the taxes and the penalties that could be involved.

If you already filed your tax return and the e-file was accepted then ignore that email that is simply being generated by an old account and is a marketing email to urge you to file.  TurboTax accounts do not "know" about other TT accounts you have, so it is possible that you started in another account and did not file that return---that account is sending out emails.

Ok thank you for the information. The IRS already accepted my return, so i am going to just ignore that email then. Thank you for your patience.

A fine?  Does it say you have an underpayment penalty? It is on 1040 line 38.

Do you have a penalty on 1040 line 38?  It's not for filing or paying late.  It doesn't have to do with last year's tax return or not paying estimates for this year.  The penalty is an "estimated" amount.    It's a penalty if you owe too much or for not paying in enough withholding during the year or not paying in evenly.  Even if you are getting a refund you can still owe a penalty.  It's very common and normal and expected for the IRS or state to bill you for more or send you a refund.

You might be able to eliminate it or at least reduce it.  You can go to Federal Taxes tab or Personal tab, under Other Tax Situations and select Start by the Underpayment Penalties. You will answer a series of questions that may reduce or eliminate the penalty. Or you can elect to have the IRS figure the penalty for you.  It's form 2210.

It's under
