Generally, if your tax form (like the SSA-1099) has a year on it like "2023", then it is for the 2023 tax year.
As I recall, if you got a lump sum payment on the SSA-1099, the form will list the amounts and the years that the payments applied to. You will start the lump sum interview in TurboTax and you will be prompted to make the right entries.
