If you are using TurboTax Online, this situation has been reported to the developers for resolution as soon as possible.
If you are using a CD/downloaded version of TurboTax, use the following steps to overcome the error conditions preventing direct deposit:
- While on the screen asking you to enter your banking information for direct deposit, click the Forms button in the upper right corner of the screen.
- This will open the Info Wks where there are two items that need attention.
- Check the Yes box highlighted in pink beside the question Do you want to elect Direct Deposit of any Federal refund?
- Go to the routing number field and delete all of the extra characters entered after your nine-digit routing number.
- Click the Step-by-Step button at the top right corner of the screen to go back to the filing choices and continue to file your return.
